Bedroom design for a good night’s sleep
If there is one room that gets a makeover most often in my house, it has to be my bedroom. It’s not because I’ve been unhappy with it, I just like to change things around a bit. Somehow it’s always this bedroom that is on my revamping radar.
So I happily jumped at the opportunity when JYSK suggested a collaboration around a good night’s sleep. It seemed too good an opportunity to miss! Surrounding yourself with beautiful things seems to help, as I have been sleeping really well in my newly updated bedroom 🙂
Before and after
The biggest job was painting over the dark grey walls. It took a lot of elbow grease and plenty of white paint to cover the grey! The new wall colour is lovely, chalky dusty rose, perfect shade of pink.
I chose these Ilbro bedside tables from JYSK’s lovely selection of very reasonably priced home decor items. I really liked the simple and clean design as well as the light wood finish. Very Scandichic. The Bakkebjerg round sidetable is from JYSK as well, and it’s perfect for creating a little displays with candles and flowers.
I’m really pleased with the end results. The dusty pink, white, gold and little details of green look so fresh and different from the strong monochrome palette the room had before. I really like all the new cushions, and although there is plenty of pink in the room now, the muted shades tone it down and don’t make it too overpowering. That Myggblom grey faux fur throw is cosy and so soft to touch.
Can you guess what was my children’s favourite thing of this bedroom update? Yep, that Torleif lightbox. Something tells me I won’t get to have it in my room for long before it gets taken to one of their rooms.
