It feels spring is around the corner, and it’s time of year I feel most inspired about makeup, both trying out new products as well as rediscovering old favourites. So I wanted to share favourites in my makeup bag in this post! I have a couple of new primers, creamy cheek sticks and my makeup is still giving me enough coverage, but glowy. It’s the season for a softer, dewier look to my makeup.
After a couple of months of barely wearing any, I’ve been feeling more inspired to experiment with my makeup lately and finding new favourites to add to my makeup bag. Trying out some things like layering up products, trying different application methods and even applying actual eyeshadows rather than my usual Nars bronzer!
Favourite additions to my makeup bag…
Bare Minerals PRIME TIME™ primer. I have mentioned before how lazy I am with primers, even if I know they make my makeup last longer and look better too! A sample size of the Bare minerals primer was sent to me a few months ago. I recently added it to my daily makeup routine and I’m loving the results. I sweep it on to skin before my base and it gives a lovely, soft-focus sort of matte finish that makes foundation applying a dream.
Shiseido Poreless Matte Primer. This primer is a hardcore mattifier, aimed for oily skin. My skin isn’t especially oily, but I love using this on my nose and chin. A little goes a long way with this product, you definitely don’t want to use too. But when applied correctly this is an amazing primer. It truly does blur your imperfections, smooth your skin, fill pores and mattifies your skin! This formula is not like any other primer I’ve tried, it feels more like a lotion when applied. Once rubbed into the skin it starts drying down and becomes more smoothing.

Fenty Beauty Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick. If there’s one brand I was desperate to try out, it’s Fenty Beauty by Rihanna! I am obsessed with creamy highlight products and the Shimmer Stick in Trippin didn’t disappoint! It is a creamy highlighter, you sweep it on to cheekbones, down the nose, on the brow bone and then blend lightly with fingers. The result is golden shimmer with flattering warm radiance that is only ever naturally glowy and never glittery. Just beautiful!
Nars galore in my makeup bag
NARS Bronzer in Laguna. Bronzer really is a must have for me! I wear it daily; sweeping it under cheekbones, along my jawline, stippling in to my hair line and adding a dusting on the tip of my nose too. It gives a warm, more sculpted look to my pale moonface. Bronzer is definitely my secret weapon for looking healthy and alive. I also have the Beauty Pie bronzer, but I’ve been lately using just this Nars bronzer.
NARS Cosmetics Climax Mascara in Black. After years of using solely Beauty Pie mascaras, I was send this Nars mascara and I’m loving using it. It has my favourite kind of bushy brush (I don’t get along with the skinny silicone brushes) which makes clump free application easy and most importantly it doesn’t irritate my sometimes sensitive eyes. I love voluminous looking lashes (but natural) and this does the job well, it also stays well.
NARS Lipstick in Gipsy. This was a it of a surprise hit for me, colour wise! I’ve always been one for more pink coloured lipsticks, so I was a little surprised how much I loved the Gipsy. It’s more muted and darker berry shade, but it’s very complimentary shade for my winter skin and I’ve been wearing it lots to bring some colour to my face. I love the formula as it’s very moisturising and has subtle balm like shine to it. I can’t stand dry lips!
NARS Cosmetics Radiant Creamy Concealer. Not a new find, but an old favourite. I use this product most days for my panda-esque under eyes and really love it. A smallest drop goes a long way. It feels light and has excellent coverage, nothing covers my dark circles like this concealer!
The most beautiful thing
ICONIC London Day to Slay Eyeshadow Palette; Isn’t this just the most mesmerising palette? Perfect colours for someone that likes neutral makeup. The eyeshadows are long lasting and super easy to work with. I’m sure my face lit up when I opened it for the first time, it is just so beautiful! Lot’s of warm, golden shimmers and pops of pink and rust. This is the perfect palette to help me to be a little more daring with my eye makeup looks! Luckily I recently bought a set of new eye makeup brushes to make most of this gorgeous palette.

SUPER HEALTHY SKIN™ SHEER TINTED MOISTURISER Another oldie, but can’t-live-without product! This is one of the products I would choose for my desert island must have (makeup) list. I have it in two different shades and blend it with a foundation to make my base look more dewy but still have enough coverage. It gives you that beautifully natural, sheer coverage and a radiant, all-day gorgeous, soft-focus glow. And comes with SPF too!
Beauty Pie SUPERBROW™ LUXE PRECISION PENCIL: I’m sure a lot of us are in the same mission for a perfect brow product right now. I have been using this pencil for a few months and I love it. It’s so easy to apply and the blonde girl colour is ideal as you can layer it for a darker finish without having to worry getting too dark results. There is also an angled version of it which I want to try out next!
Beauty Pie lip crayons. These deserve a special mention as Lip crayons have been my makeup bag staple for years. I love the easiness of using them, and Beauty Pie has a lovely selection of colours in very reasonable prices so I can literally have these in every bag and coat pocket! I prefer the shiny finish as I find matte products too drying for my lips, and one of my all time favourites is the SHINE UP™ LIP COLOUR BALM STICK in bright coral. And it’s only £4!!
So here are my current favourites in my makeup bag! Have you tried any of these?
