March good things and other thoughts

I used to write these posts when I had just started my blog, and recently remembered that I actually really enjoy these! I have no strict concept here, just what I would like my month to be, my favourite beauty or style finds, favourite books, shops, my goals for the month… All sorts!

On my March TV watch list

Million little things – haven’t seen it yet, but it’s on top of my watch list. It’s set in Boston, following lives of a group of friends after a member of the group dies from suicide unexpectedly. The title is a reference to the saying “Friendship isn’t a big thing – it’s a million little things.” We haven’t really been watching that much of TV lately. Our kids are getting older & staying up later there just isn’t as much time for grown up TV time! I’ll let you know what I think about it if when I’ve actually managed to watch it!

Work related goals for March (and beyond)

I would like to push myself with work goals, whilst still by focussing on things that make me happy. I’ve been happy enough to do my usual instagram & blog posting, but I enjoy change and new challenges. I want to widen my horizons and do things that bring me happiness and sense of fulfilment. My new YouTube channel is a good example of that- I’m doing videos based on what brings me joy rather than what might ‘work’ better. If only the editing wouldn’t take so long I would be doing a lot more of videos.

March book club

Ok I say March, but given that I haven’t had a chance to even start it yet it might also be April’s book – The night manager by John Carré. It’s an old book but as it was made to a TV-series recently. I haven’t seen that either and want to read the book first. I have raid some of John Carré’s other books, and when I read from Hugh Laurie’s interview recently it’s his favourite book so I decided that I wanted to read it too. It’s fascinating when people can name their favourite book…quite a commitment!

A Month of wellness..

Ok, I hope I’m not jinxing anything but when I joined a new gym in January (not a cliche at all :), I didn’t necessarily have high hopes how long my twice a week routine was going to carry on… but it has, and in fact I’m enjoying it so much I’m planning to up my pass to a 3 classes a week! Exercising has always been the first one I drop as soon as life gets busy. I’m so happy I’ve kept going and only missed handful of times. So the plan is to keep on going! Just need to cut back my sweet eating habit and I’ll be good.

Progress in the house renovation

Ah, my renovation project. 4,5 months in and my enthusiasm has plateaud a little. There is nothing wrong with our flat, but would like to be back in my own home now. I’m kind of bored with temporary settings and not having enough of space for storage. The good news is that we are over halfway and IF there is no major delays we should be back by May. The other good news is that I’ve ordered most of our bathroom stuff and the tiles, so hopefully those will be going in soon. We’ll get there eventually!

My cosmetics shopping ban

For the last 5 months I’ve been trying to use up any of my skincare & makeup products. I am only buying new products when replacing items. I realised my bathroom was full of half-used bottles and decided that in order to minimise my collection I needed to use things up before getting more. It’s been going well, minus a couple of beauty pie relapses (more about my most recent shop later). I only brought with me one bottle of hair styling product which had few drops left when we moved to the flat in November and it’s STILL not quite finished. I recently posted about this project to my instagram stories and will update my progress in there.
