Time for another renovation progress post! Lots happened last week, and lots more has been happening on the week 2. The builders have been busy clearing out the rubbish from last week and removing more walls and ceilings.
You can see how the house looked before here, what the plans for the reno look like in here and also how our wish list for the renovation looked like when we had just bought the house.
If last week was all about demolition, this week there has been some new walls appearing too. It’s so exciting to see the new rooms appearing!
Let’s start the renovation progress tour from room with the most exciting transformation, my new kitchen! The loft has been removed so we could see for the first time the full height of the room. Excuse my makeup free face, we came to see the house from our 3 hour walk in the rain 🙂 There will be two new windows in this space, one on the wall I’m leaning on and the other one the wall you can see on left. I have a Pinterest board dedicated for my new kitchen inspo!
The other exciting change is around my old study where the new staircase will be. It’s not that easy to see from the pictures, but this is where the stairs to the new floor level will be.
My children’s new rooms
The renovation progress has been most visible in the children’s rooms side of the house. New stud walls are coming up, and you can now see how the layout will look with their bedrooms, en-suites and the kids living room.
This room in the front, just off the hallway will be my new laundry / boot room. This house didn’t have any kind of utility space and the washing machine & dryer were located in the old kitchen. The hallway isn’t massive and I would like to keep it uncluttered so I’m really happy to have a separate space for kids school and sport bags, shoes, coats etc.
There will also be a guest bedroom with bathroom in this part of the house. It’s in the front of the photo, my daughter’s room is in the back corner and her en-suite will be in between. Our bedroom will be next floor up post-renovation.
Scaffolding is going up on Monday and some of the existing windows are going to be boarded up! I’ll be back with more renovation progress updates soon.
